The AMINO ACID PLASMA - QUANTITATIVE test measures the concentrations of multiple amino acids in plasma. Amino acids are essential molecules used to build proteins and support energy production, neurotransmission, growth and many other biological processes. Their concentrations are controlled by dietary intake, tissue metabolism, liver and kidney function and numerous enzymes and transport proteins.
